Yello’s own history describes a group shaped by Zürich’s Dada spirit and by music far outside one electronic lane. Boris Blank has described his method in visual terms: building pictures and stories out of sound rather than starting from conventional instrumental technique.
On Solid Pleasure, that approach is already audible. A miniature can be as important as a song. A rhythm can behave like a character. A genre can appear for thirty seconds, collide with something else and disappear.
